Kim and Jeremy Klein Help Phelps County Residents Navigate The Real Estate Market

Buyers or sellers entering the real estate market in Phelps County can contact Kim and Jeremy Klein, who have been active in the area since 1997. The Kleins, owners of Real Estate Connection, enjoy helping people start their next chapters – especially first-time homebuyers.

“I love helping people, particularly those who are new to the process and excited to buy a home,” says Kim. “I also love meeting new people who are coming to the area.”

Jeremy agrees. “We like helping people navigate through the process,” he adds. “It can be confusing if you don’t know what your rights are.”

The Kleins are actively involved in the Phelps County community and seek out ways to contribute to its growth. Their role as residential real estate professionals, along with their passion for the community, has made the county stronger by helping with the attraction and placement of the next generation of families and workforce to Holdrege and the surrounding areas. 

The Kleins Say Phelps County is Easy to Sell

When Kim and Jeremy moved to Holdrege nearly 30 years ago, they never thought they would spend their lives here. They had family in the area, but didn’t expect Phelps County to be their forever home.

“The longer we lived here, the more we loved it,” says Kim. “It was a fantastic place to raise our kids.”

The Kleins believe the Holdrege community makes it easy to win over potential residents who are considering rural Nebraska. The Iron Horse Arts District has events and activities for newly arrived Nebraskans to make friends, while major celebrations like the Midsummer Festival let people meet their neighbors, and The Tassel for professional performing arts.

“People here are nice and generous,” says Jeremy. “We have world-class medical care, good schools, and ample parks. It’s a great place to raise a family.”

The Kleins have two kids, a son who is 26 and a daughter who is 22. Both are finishing up school in Lincoln and want to stay in Nebraska as they launch their careers. 
“I think they would move back to Phelps County for the right opportunity,” says Jeremy. “They’ve learned to appreciate what small towns have to offer, like how easy it is to visit people and create new friendships.”  

They Support the Phelps County Development Corporation

The Kleins are investors in the Phelps County Development Corporation (PCDC) and are actively involved in its operations. Kim is part of the Citizen Advisory “Watchdog” committee for the LB840 funds, which support the GO! Programs.  

“We support PCDC because it offers great incentives for people moving to Phelps County,” says Kim. “The non-profit organization works proactively to keep the communities growing and helps revitalize our downtowns.”

Jeremy adds that PCDC actively recruits businesses to the community, helps start-ups become established, and assists existing businesses in multiple ways to grow, which helps create job opportunities for Phelps County residents.

“There’s an old saying: if you don’t grow, you die,” he explains. “You have to keep growing to provide opportunities for the next generation. They need careers as well as fun things to do.”

Not only does investing in PCDC help the Kleins grow their real estate business (more people moving here means more homes bought and sold), but it also helps create a Phelps County that provides jobs and amenities for their kids. Their involvement is building a brighter future for the community. 

Kim and Jeremy Are Found Throughout the Community 

The Kleins volunteer their time with a variety of other organizations that support activities, events, and volunteerism. Kim is involved with the Holdrege Area Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club. Jeremy serves on the board of the Holdrege Development Corporation, while both are active with the Holdrege Mobile Pack Board for Feed My Starving Children and Trinity Evangelical Free Church.

“We appreciate how much time Kim and Jeremy give to PCDC, especially considering how involved they are in their careers and with other local organizations,” says Jeff Hofaker, Executive Director of PCDC. “Their financial support as investors is also invaluable to helping us reach our goals, continue operations as a non-profit development organization, and administer funds collected from a local sales tax and provide assistance to businesses via PCDC’s GO programs.
