For Jett Johnson, agriculture was never an extracurricular activity. It was a responsibility.
Johnson, a senior at Holdrege High School, has been named Ag Achiever of the Month, an honor presented by the Rural Radio Network in partnership with the Nebraska Soybean Board recognizing young leaders in agriculture. He comes from a multi-generation Phelps County farm family and has already logged years of hands-on experience few teenagers can match.
“We grow corn and soybeans. We’re primarily row crop,” Johnson said. “We don’t have any cows or anything, so we’re strictly row crop.”
