Dahlgren Opens Counseling Office at Holdrege’s SCAR
January 8, 2026
Bailey Dahlgren, a provisionally licensed mental health counselor, has started seeing clients from her new office at South Central Area Recovery, 307 East Ave. in Holdrege.
SCAR recently started two new resources – financial counseling assistance and an on-site counselor – to help those recovering from their own addiction or a family member’s addiction.
SCAR is a nonprofit organization formed to provide a safe environment, education and support for those dealing with or touched by addiction and those who have suffered traumatic life-altering events.
Dahlgren has rented one of SCAR’s counseling spaces. She works with children and families through Midwest Encouragement and Counseling in Kearney and Holdrege. She earned her master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Before entering the mental health field, Dahlgren spent
five years as a teacher and gained a deep understanding of the academic, emotional, and developmental needs of children.
SCAR’s new Aid Fund awards up to $1,500 grants per person for individuals with low income or no health insurance for services like counseling, sober living, alcohol education and substance abuse evaluations.
