PCDC Offers Incentives to Make Holdrege, Nebraska Home
December 18, 2020
Phelps County Development Corporation (PCDC) wants you to come home to Holdrege and Phelps County, Nebraska. A few years ago, PCDC set its sights on converting commuters who are employed locally but live elsewhere to full-time residents. The prospect of shortened commute times, decreased wear and tear on vehicles, and fuel cost savings already had ample appeal. PCDC added even more allure to saying “yes” to idyllic Midwestern small town living by offering relocation incentives with their GO! HOME programs.
GO! HOME Programs
In 2020, GO! HOME Down Payment Assistance Grants helped relocate 31 new residents to Phelps County, bringing its 4-year relocation success total to 124. When you add in the 75 new residents the other GO! HOME programs combined brought in, the 4-year total population boost jumps to 199.
For the Down Payment Assistance Reimbursement Grant to Employer, PCDC will match dollar for dollar, up to $2,500 with no payback, any Phelps County employers’ contributions designed to assist a current or new employee living outside the county to move to Phelps County. Employers may, of course, grant or loan more than $2,500. Employees renting a Phelps County residence for less than 12 months still qualify.
The Public Employee Down Payment Assistance Grant To Employer is designed to assist a current or new public employee living outside the county to move to Phelps County with a $2,500 no payback grant for down payment assistance. Public employees renting a Phelps County residence for less than 12 months still qualify.
Keep up-to-date about the availability of all incentives here. PCDC also partners with other organizations to promote workforce housing development and scholarships for students pursuing careers in high-demand job sectors.
