PCDC Hall of Fame Banquet Set for October 26
October 19, 2023
Governor Jim Pillen will speak, and two local businesses will be honored at the Phelps County Development Corporation’s Business Hall of Fame Banquet on Thursday, October 26, in downtown Holdrege.
Holdrege’s Nebraskaland Aviation and Bertrand’s Pretty & Fabulous Custom T-shirts & Boutique will share the spotlight as the community celebrates the businesses and their impact on the local economy.
“We have selected two businesses, one large and one small, who have invested in their communities making our local economy stronger and providing quality jobs,” PCDC Executive Director Ron Tillery said.
The event takes place at the Holdrege Sun Theater and Event Venue and will start at 6:30 pm with a buffet reception, champagne, and a chocolate fountain.
The program will begin at 7:30 pm with a keynote speech by Governor Jim Pillen. He was sworn in as Nebraska’s 41st governor in January. He entered the office with goals of protecting, training and keeping youth in Nebraska, cutting taxes, growing agriculture and defending Nebraska’s commonsense, conservative values. Pillen grew up on a farm in Platte County. He graduated from Columbus Lakeview High School and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he was on the Husker football team, and is a successful agricultural entrepreneur in the swine industry.
Following the keynote speech, PCDC will recognize two local businesses.
