INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A young farmer from Holdrege is a national champion as Grady Johnson earns one of the National FFA organization's top awards, following his dad's footsteps.
21-year-old Grady Johnson says agriculture is in his blood and he said being nominated for the American Star Farmer Award is something he always hoped for.
“It’s been something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time, my dad actually won it back in '91 and I remember we pulled out the VHS tape of it a while back and probably when I was 10 years old, I was like ‘That’s a good goal to shoot for” and ever since then I’ve always had it in the back of my mind,” he previously told NTV.
