First Impression Grant Awarded to Wiggles & Giggles

Congratulations to the Wiggles & Giggles Academy on receiving a First Impressions Grant from the Phelps County Development Corporation.

Wiggles & Giggles plans to open a child care center at 2321 East Fourth Ave in mid-May.

Co-owner Andrae Matthews said they will use the grant to add front door security system, which will include a camera outside and a screen inside so the staff inside can see who is entering the center and “buzz” them in once deemed safe.

“This grant is important to our business because it is one more thing we can do to protect the children entrusted into our care,” Andrae said.

Andrae and co-owner Jamie Johnson secured the new center’s location last fall and recently received a conditional use permit from the city to open the day care there. The planned open date is May 14. An open house is scheduled for May 7.

The center will serve children from newborn to age 13 and will be open from 5:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday.
